Keeping it Simple: EcoZoom Rocket Stove Storage June 17 2013

How EcoZoom rocket stoves are simple to use and store

Keep it Simple There are multiple ways to go about finding a solution for any given problem. The task can often times be daunting or scary, and with these added emotions can come a tendency to over-complicate a situation. What should you do? Answer: Keep It Simple Stupid. Don’t worry, I’m not calling you stupid. Perhaps a quote from Leonardo da Vinci can state the same thing with a little more eloquence: “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication”. The rocket stove design is a perfect example of how simplicity can be powerful. There are merely two arms that make up the bulk of the design of a rocket stove. One for feeding fuel and one where the combustion of fuel and gas takes place, all while allowing for proper airflow. That being said, the design and specifications of our EcoZoom rocket stoves weren't complete until going through innumerable  design iterations and tests before arriving at our finished product which is wildly efficient, powerful, durable, and safe. One question we receive a lot is how to best transport or store an EcoZoom rocket stove. We’ve talked a lot about designing a cargo bag or some sort of box that could serve as the ideal case for the stove, but we keep coming back to the KISS Principle which points us to the almighty 5-gallon bucket. It’s not flashy, has no bells or whistles, and most often comes in the color void of any hue – white. It’s simple, it’s durable, it’s cheap, it’s easy to carry, and all of our single burner stoves fit snugly within one. Here is how it is done: Step 1: Gather your stove, stick support, lighter, a little fuel, kindling, and paper. The pot skirt is not in the photographs above but it can be wrapped around the body of the stove.
